TEEMA re-introduces Ningbo for the high-tech industries to choose

    With Chi mei,Gigebyte,TPV and a number of high-tech enterprises from Taiwan island establishing their factories in the city,Ningbo once again becomes Taiwan businessmen´ s "strong magnet".A recently published survey by Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers´  Association about 2008 the mainland´ s investment environment and regional risk,revealed that Ningbo ranked the third among "the city to chosen by Taiwan high-tech industries",the highest ever ranked.
    According to the report, in the future the proportion of production of Taiwan business investment in mainland, continues to decline compared with last two years of, but still reaches 54.4%. The top nine cities and regions of Taiwan businessmen consider are Shanghai, Kunshan, Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Tianjin, Chengdu, Qingdao and Xiamen. While the top nine cities engaged in high-tech industries in the future of Taiwan business layout are all on the mainland,they are Suzhou, Kunshan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Beijing, Wuxi, Nanjing, Shenzhen.
    At present Ningbo has become one of the focused region for Taiwan investment. According to statistics of the city foreign trade and economic cooperation bureau,at the end of 2007, the city has approved 2228 projects, with a total investment amounting to 15,800,000,000 U.S. dollars,the contract 10,100,000,000 U.S. dollars,according for nearly half of the province´s total contractual Taiwanese investment.With the expanding of the scale, the investment capital structure moving from the traditional industries to capital-intensive, technology-intensive high-tech industries. In recent years, state-level development zones such as the Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone, Ningbo Free Trade ZOne, High-tech zone attract "Formosa" and "Chi Mei", "AOC" and other well-known Taiwan-funded enterprises, supporting companies also have been settled . Gradually, a complete industrial chain of support in optoelectronics, precision machinery industries have come into being.
    "LCD modules output in NFTZ per month has reached 6,000,000 scale, is the mainland´s largest LCD module production base". TEEMA reveals that “LCD optoelectronics industry is the dominant industries in  Taiwan, we hope that more Taiwan enterprises and production lines will be introduced to Ningbo.” It is reported that Chi Mei Optoelectronics increase in the second half of last year on the basis of 450,000,000 U.S. dollars, and is making preparations for a capital increase of 99,000,000 U.S. dollars plan,and "Mao Ling photo"the backlight module maker,will increase this year 99,000,000 U.S. dollars.In addition, the world´s largest LCD maker TPV Technology will increase 18,000,000 U.S. dollars for the expansion of the liquid crystal display and LCD TVs to an annual output to 2000 million units.
